About

Persia DB is an open-source search database. The aim is a library you can embed the way you embed SQLite, with a file format that also works from object storage and from stateless query nodes. It is pre-alpha. The first release a caller can use is v0.1 (roadmap M10). The format freezes at v1.0 (M15). Search in production today means an existing engine. Comparison places this design next to SQLite FTS5, Tantivy, and Meilisearch.

Contributions are welcome, and the bar is correctness first. Pick one leaf from ROADMAP.md. PROGRESS.md lists what is ready next. One leaf is one pull request. If the SPEC is unclear, open an issue before writing the code.

By participating you agree to the Code of Conduct. Report security issues privately, as described in SECURITY.md. Only the latest commit on main receives fixes. A panic or unbounded memory use on a crafted database file is a security issue.

The repository also documents how AI-assisted changes follow the same rules, in CONTRIBUTING.md.
